It was so much fun to create this little book and so easy to work with. The best feature about it is that the binding is not permanent and can be opened easily by pulling it... meaning you can work on the pages separately, taking them in and out as needed. Without a clue I was when I received a pack of coloured vellum. I never worked with that type of paper and had to think hard what to do with it. I love making little envelopes and pockets - so useful for any type of projects... well the idea was there. Pockets for cards I make... so that when people receive the card they can already see what's on it without taking it out of the envelope/pocket...

With some carboot finds from last  saturday - a wooden house and a little bottle - I made this shadow box using Graphic 45 "On The Boardwalk" paper collection. Another product from a viritual crafting session with Christine. This time we decided to try the foiling technique. First you glue the items of your choice -  in my case the split rings and butterflies - on the tin with glossy accents. Then you glue the crumpled aluminium foil on top with pod-podge. It must be about 3 years ago that I stitched the swan pattern. Those who know me are aware of my love for birds and I wanted to create this shadow box ever since I stitched this pattern. The shadow box idea was part of the pattern, in fact,  included was some background script pattern and the quote. Off course I just love working with the colour turquoise.... This is a Mandala gift for a friend... A wile ago I made some altered boxes ( see youtube video ) using compartment boxes from http://www.craftyindividuals.co.uk/ (under 'must haves'). Just a fun item to work with and they have so many possibilities but most important of all they are not expensive to buy :) The first one I made was a plaque, using 1 box; Then I made 2 more, by using 2 boxes you can made a little altered book box;

Just finished a new tag with one of my favourite images, the lady in the bird cage. I created a textured backgroud on the front of the tag with acrylic modeling paste and I loved the tecnique. For the back of the tag I used paper and my good old sewing machine. Sewing with paper is another technique I want to explore. If you have any questions just leave me a comment.
