A tag inspired by Tim's 12 tags of Christmas

Hope you all had a wonderful christmas time. It sure was cosy indoors here with freezing temperatures outside... brrrrrrrr

I had no plan and I just started with some die cuts and collected left over materials from previous projects to create my Christmas tag inspired by Tim's 12 days of Christmas. Thought I make a list this time what I use for the tag, wow, I did not realise I used that much! Anyway, I cut... I painted... I inked and grunged ~smile~. The flower is made of felt and I used the alcohol ink to color the acrylic leaf beads.

Exploding box

Yippee.... my hubby bought for me a Martha Stewart Scoring Board! It was on my (never ending wish) list forever :)

My first project using the scoring board is this exploding box. I made it as a gift, The inside can be used to add photo's and journalling, it contains 6 mini notecards and 6 matching envelopes. Ohhhh how I loooove my board :)

I used 7 Gypsies paper (Calais), cardstock in a matching colour and the Martha Stewart Butterfly punch. The idea came from Papercrafts Love Affair , I just made it a bit smaller.

Hope

Hope

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune--without the words,
And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

I've heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

Sunday

My latest tag

Just finished a new tag with one of my favourite images, the lady in the bird cage.

I created a textured backgroud on the front of the tag with acrylic modeling paste and I loved the tecnique. For the back of the tag I used paper and my good old sewing machine.

Sewing with paper is another technique I want to explore. If you have any questions just leave me a comment.

My first page and tag

This is the first time I made a scrapbook page and tag for someone.

Tag I made for Fiona

Page I made for Fiona's friend Julie

Just a little project trying out some of my collected items. I used acrylic paint and Ranger Rock Candy on the picture.

Just a little project I did last week, I used the ranger paint dabbers (aqua and willow), some lace, paper flowers and brads. Although I'm not so happy with the end result ... I'm sure I will get there in the end :)

Happy Thoughts

My new moleskine...

I had a bit of a down day and started to cheer myself up with positive words from A to Z. I never compose something this busy but it worked :)

I used watercolour pencils and a FC artist pitt penn.

Friday

We are not alone

When you act on your impulses to play, when you are open to the possibilities in each moment, you replace your fears with self-understanding, self-esteem, and personal strength.

Serenity

"Serenity is not freedom from the storm, but peace amid the storm”
My first acrylic painting. I'm challenging myself to be looser in my art work ... acrylic paint might be the medium to do so... although I overworked it a bit.

Saturday

Freedom

I know why the caged bird sings

A free bird leaps on the back of the wind
and floats downstream till the current ends
and dips his wing in the orange suns rays and dares to claim the sky.

But a bird that stalks down his narrow cage
can seldom see through his bars of rage
his wings are clipped and his feet are tied so he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings with a fearful trill
of things unknown but longed for still
and his tune is heard on the distant hill
for the caged bird sings of freedom.

The free bird thinks of another breeze
and the trade winds soft through the sighing trees
and the fat worms waiting on a dawn-bright lawn and he names the sky his own.

But a caged bird stands on the grave of dreams
his shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
his wings are clipped and his feet are tied so he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings with a fearful trill
of things unknown but longed for still
and his tune is heard on the distant hill
for the caged bird sings of freedom
