Card with fun images

Did I not tell you that I was going to create something with the digital stamps from The Octopode Factory? Well here it is...

I used the new Tim Holtz Reflections stamp in combination with the embossing folder. You can see the technique in one of his videos, you stamp on the raised side of the embossing folder before you emboss your paper. I loooooove the effect!!

Materials I used are
Card stock - Cream and Rust
The Octopode Factory Digital stamps - Edgar Alan Poe collection
Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Vintage Photo
Tim Holtz Stamp - Reflections
Ranger Archival Ink - Jet Black
Indentz A6 Embossing folder - Funky Tree
Martha Stewart Craft Punch - Classic Butterfly (for the wings)
Silk ribbon - Turquoise
Flower embellishments

You can find some of the materials here:

Progress made...

Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind. Our furry friend Mabel (Mabu) is on a diet. Her weight gradually increased in the past couple of years and it has become a problem.

She is a rescue cat and came to us when she was about 3 years old. Food has been a big issue for her (being deprived of it for months before she was rescued), she just can't get enough of it.

Meal times have always been a struggle and she became very clever trying to fool us that she is soooooo hungry. Her tricks were sitting at her empty bowl for hours... not leaving you alone... tapping with her paw on your leg... if that was without success she would start to bite. Now that she is getting older (about 10 I think) and can't be bothered to do any excercises like climbing, playing and so on she piled on the weight.

We started a weight loss program and finally found the right food for her, Hills Prescription Diet RD. She has regular check-ups at the vets "weight loss clinic" and generally seems much happier.

She lost weight in the first 4 weeks and I'm proud of her!

Tuesday

Got to have them

You know what it is like when you find something that is so good that you can't live without it anymore.... well today I found it!

Have you heard of Lily Chilvers and her work at The Octopode Factory? I never had before today and I tell you... if you like different, humour and unique... I'm sure your will love it too.

Her work is available as digital stamps in her etsy store and I purchased some today - something I never thought I would use. Will show you soon what I made with it.

UPDATE:
Wooohooo I found the place where you can buy the rubber stamps, it is lily's blog at Frilly Underware (love that name!). Just click on the link rubber stamps!

For butterfly lovers....

Usually I'm far behind with the new scrapbook paper releases - except if it's anything to do with Tim Holtz... I'm addicted to all his stuff ~smile~. I was browsing today and found this new collection (winter 2011) from Bo Bunny. All I can say is Wow!

Anyway, thought I share it with you. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
