She is a rescue cat and came to us when she was about 3 years old. Food has been a big issue for her (being deprived of it for months before she was rescued), she just can't get enough of it.
Meal times have always been a struggle and she became very clever trying to fool us that she is soooooo hungry. Her tricks were sitting at her empty bowl for hours... not leaving you alone... tapping with her paw on your leg... if that was without success she would start to bite. Now that she is getting older (about 10 I think) and can't be bothered to do any excercises like climbing, playing and so on she piled on the weight.
We started a weight loss program and finally found the right food for her, Hills Prescription Diet RD. She has regular check-ups at the vets "weight loss clinic" and generally seems much happier.
She lost weight in the first 4 weeks and I'm proud of her!
Oh, Mabel is so sweet! She seem to have excactly the same problem as our Sally.
ReplyDeleteBut it´s almost impossible to make Sally loose weight. And she will be 12 years this summer so she doesn´t play around much these days either.
