Altered CD

Wow, it's such a long time since I posted. What's happening here... well been busy with work... my brother came to visit... did not feel like crafting and blogging much... etc...etc...

I do have something to share. An altered CD I made for Christine. We did a sort of swap, actually, it was an extention of our first one ~smile~ because the Mandala I made for her was not finished when I sent her the (first) parcel. Anyway, we decided to make an altered cd for each other.

I enjoyed creating the CD... the circle is such a lovely shape to work with. Starting with tissue paper, crumbled and glued to the background with mod podge and coloured with Cosmic Shimmer Mist. I then fiddled around with my cropadile and some eyelets so that I could add some ribbon. My initial plan was to use beads but I did not like the result and removed them again.

I found some images on the www and collaged them onto a circle in my design program Coreldraw. I framed the circle with a scalloped circle I cut out with my nestability die using funky foam. A metal corner embellishment adds some interest :) I used some Graphic 45 colour core cardstock to add a circle on the back after I embossed it to add some texture to it. More images from the www and voila... the CD was finised.
